I have a Spanish translation of "Remembered Death" AKA "Sparkling Cyanide". The translator's note gives two big problems in rendering the work into Spanish.
1. The Spanish name for the herb 'Rosemary' is 'Rumero', and is NOT used as a feminine name.
2. The herb does not, in Spanish culture, symbolize remembrance/memory.
Hence, a major resonance in the work will go right over the head of someone reading it in Spanish translation.
